Get a permit from Bexar County Fire Marshall before starting outside burning.
Call 9-1-1 when you need us (from outside if house is on fire). Be sure your cell phone is registered with 9-1-1.
Have an Escape Plan: GET LOW, GO!
Plan for special needs: children, elderly, impaired, pets. Have a copy of emergency medical information available to responders. Learn more.
Provide LSVFD Access: Knox gate locks, residence, clear path to bedrooms
Fire Extinguishers: Have proper type, check and maintain regularly; place in high risk areas. These will effectively extinguish SMALL fires which have just started. Don't try to be a hero if fire is already established.
Alarms: fire, medical, carbon monoxide, burglary. Test them. Replace batteries regularly.
Water Supply: Pools, Tanks Please let us know if you have available water.
